ERIELL Group: results for the first six months of 2023

ERIELL Group, the international oilfield services group of companies, presents its results for the first half of 2023. These results cover ERIELL Group’s activities at facilities in Uzbekistan, together with projects in other countries.

Operational highlights

  • 48 wells drilled, including 39 vertical wells with a combined depth of 127,876 meters and the horizontal side wells covering 5,497 meters.
  • 49 drilling rigs currently used by ERIELL Group in Uzbekistan
  • New well perforation service launched, with a Well Construction Support Center to follow
  • Successful overseas projects ongoing in Bangladesh and Iraq
  • The Group will open an office in Kazakhstan later this year
  • Negotiations on possible investments and projects ongoing with major Chinese entities

Otabek Akhmedzhanov, Executive Director of The ERIELL Group, stated, “The ERIELL Group is continually enhancing its proficiency in mastering advanced technologies which can now even extract hydrocarbons from wells decommissioned decades ago. This is why various subsurface stakeholders, including our long-term partner JSC Uzbekneftegaz, trust us to develop their deposits. Our experts understand that only those with extensive experience and a commitment to always improving can contribute to the country’s oil and gas production. With such workforce and professionals, the ERIELL Group will maintain its effective operations for the benefit of the people of Uzbekistan and its economy.”

New well perforation service

ERIELL Well Solutions has launched a new well perforation service.  This important development will help to increase the production of hydrocarbons in Uzbekistan. With the help of modern technologies, it is now possible to carry out perforations at high temperatures (over 200°C). This significantly expands the possibilities covering the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in ultra-deep wells in Uzbekistan.

ERIELL Group will continue developing new technologies and working methods that ensure perforation and blasting operations are conducted efficiently and safely. In addition, ERIELL Group will acquire eight additional artificial lifts, to assist with its research work and well perforations.

Best practices and new technologies

ERIELL Group constantly studies and implements new techniques and technologies that significantly improve the results obtained at its facilities.

For example, well number 603 in the Mustakillikning 25 Yilligi field and well number 8 in the Aknazar field were successfully drilled using a specially developed oil-based drilling fluid.

The implementation of remote monitoring systems continues at all drilling rigs. After the completion of equipment installation and commissioning, ERIELL Group is planning a full launch of its Well Construction Support Center. The Group’s Scientific and Technical Center will provide remote monitoring and technical support for drilling wells online, which is a widespread practice amongst leading oil and gas companies.

Work continues on implementing a "technical limit" method, a universal tool to reduce time spent on well construction through introducing organizational changes and applying best practices.

Currently, the possibility of purchasing and supplying equipment for controlled pressure drilling is being considered. Negotiations are underway with leading global companies such as Schlumberger, Halliburton, Hilong, Upstream and others.

ERIELL Group’s engineers constantly analyze the geological sections of deposits and, together with the suppliers of drill bits, carry out bespoke design of bits to increase drilling speeds.

International projects

Many years of experience, combined with modern technology, allow ERIELL Group to provide high-quality oilfield services worldwide.

To date, ERIELL Group has successfully worked on two major projects in Bangladesh and Iraq.

The Ilisha field in Bangladesh was supposed to be drilled in 60 days. However, thanks to the well-coordinated work and professionalism of ERIELL Group’s drillers, the well was completed in under 47 days.

Several drilling crews are successfully working at fields in Iraq, achieving shortened deadlines for well completion and high oil flow rates. For example, at the Ga-G149P well in the Al-Garraf field, oil production reached 2,005 barrels per day, with 1,900 barrels produced daily at the Ga-G146P well.

In 2023 ERIELL Group plans to commence operations in Kazakhstan, with an office opening soon. The Group intends to work with Kazakhstan’s main oil and gas sector participants and participate in tenders for the provision of oilfield services.

Continuous development is the key to success

By utilising advanced technologies and well-coordinated work programs, ERIELL Group is achieving significant successes. Early well completion dates and large oil and gas flows in particular showcase employees’ skills and qualifications.

This year, thanks to the well-coordinated work of ERIELL Group’s engineering services and drilling teams, the mechanical drilling speed was increased by 40%-60% compared to previous results at the Kuyi Surgil field (located in Karakalpakstan), to depths of 4,200m.

These successes are achieved through ERIELL Group’s determination to improve the skills of its employees. For this purpose, the Group established its own training center more than 10 years ago. To date, more than 15,000 people (including Group and partners’ employees as well as students) have undertaken training courses there.
